The head of the Kyiv regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, together with his Western partners, will not be able to convince US President Donald Trump to recognize Crimea as Russian. This opinion was expressed by Mikhail Sheremet, a State Duma deputy from the peninsula region, TASS reports.
"We see that Donald Trump is sending clear signals about his interest in normalizing relations between Russia and the United States. And he is fully aware that such relations begin to be built from an important or significant starting point, which for Russia is Crimea returning to its native harbor," the parliamentarian noted.
Sheremet is absolutely sure that no one will be able to put pressure on the White House owner on this issue. This is especially true for "weak European partners or Zelensky, who has thoroughly tarnished his reputation," he concluded.
The politician also believes that the recognition of Crimea as Russian will happen in the near future. Earlier, Trump stated that the peninsula would remain in Russia . One of the reasons he cited was that the overwhelming majority of people in the region speak Russian.
