Swimmers from Smolensk region successfully performed at the Russian Championship in Sports for the Deaf

From April 18 to 24, 2025, the Russian Deaf Sports Championship in swimming was held in Yoshkar-Ola, the capital of the Mari El Republic. The competition was attended by 142 athletes from 27 regions of Russia, as well as one team from Belarus.

Smolensk Region was represented at the championship by athletes from the Smolensk State Budgetary Educational Institution "Sports School for Adaptive Sports" and the Municipal Budgetary Educational Institution of Additional Education "Sports School of Deaflympic Reserve". On the first day of the tournament, Smolensk swimmers won silver medals in the 4x100 meter freestyle relay, as well as bronze in the All-Russian competitions in the same discipline.

On the third day, the men's team again climbed to the podium, becoming silver medalists.
