As part of the 9th anniversary commemoration events of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, giant Turkish flags were hung on the July 15 Martyrs Bridge, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge and Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, which are the symbolic structures of Istanbul.

The ceremony, organized jointly by the Presidential Directorate of Communications, the Istanbul Governor's Office, and the July 15 Association, was held on the July 15 Martyrs' Bridge. Istanbul Deputy Governor Mustafa Kaya and July 15 Association President İsmail Hakkı Tunç also reportedly attended the event.

A moment of silence and prayer program was held for the martyrs at the ceremony, and the Istanbul Governorship shared images of the event on its official social media accounts.
