The Asian leg of the "I'm Running Istanbul" road race will be held on Sunday.

The Asian leg of the I'm Running Istanbul road race, organized by Spor Istanbul, a subsidiary of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, since 2016, will be held on Sunday, September 14, at the Üsküdar track.

Kit distribution for the race, for which more than 5,000 runners have registered, will begin on Thursday.

This year's race, with the slogan "I Run Istanbul, I Live the City!", will once again be held over two different distances. A total of 5,250 people have registered, with 4,150 expected to run in the 10K category and 1,100 in the 5K category.

The 5K race, open to runners ages 14 and older, will begin at 8:00 a.m., while the 10K race, open to runners ages 16 and older, will begin at 9:15 a.m. The race time will be 50 minutes for the 5K and 90 minutes for the 10K. Runners who complete the 10K race in 90 minutes will be eligible to register for the 15.5K run as part of the 47th Istanbul Marathon, to be held on November 2nd.

In the 10K category, the first place winner in the women's and men's categories will receive 20,000 lira in prize money, the second place winner 15, the third place winner 10, the fourth place winner 8, the fifth place winner 6, the sixth place winner 5, the seventh place winner 4, and the eighth place winner 3,000 lira.

In the 5K category, trophies will be presented to the top three athletes overall and the top three athletes in the 14-16 age group. All runners who complete the race will receive a commemorative "I'm Running Istanbul" medal.
