What was supposed to happen happened. Cezary Kulesza had no opponent in the elections for the head of the Polish Football Association. The current president of the federation was elected for another term on Monday (i.e. June 30). Kulesza received 98 votes from delegates during the General Report and Election Assembly.

It seems that the key issue from the perspective of recent weeks, namely putting out the "fire" in the context of the role of the coach of the Polish national team. Right after winning the elections on Monday, the new/old president of the Polish Football Association spoke on the subject of selection decisions.
– I think this is a very serious topic and we are taking it seriously, only because of the elections, because yesterday there were also elections for the Supervisory Board in PKO BP Ekstraklasa, today we have the PZPN, but today is passing and this work will definitely be accelerated. We will want to choose this coach, the coach for the Polish national team as soon as possible. Why? Because the coach will have more time to work on the selection of our players. In the meantime, however, we do not want to make any mistakes. We have to think carefully, choose well, construct the contracts well. Because we know that the other side is also working on it. If everything is agreed, we will announce the coach of our national team as soon as possible [...] I would like it as soon as possible, but the coach-coach should be chosen before the start of our Ekstraklasa, which starts in mid-July. This deadline, if we are talking about the coach, should be met – assessed the president of PZPN.
Looking at the schedule, the PKO BP Ekstraklasa games in the 2025/26 season will start on July 18-20.
Cezary Kulesza has been the president of the Polish Football Association since August 2021. Previously, in 2016-21, he served as the federation's vice president for professional football.
Kulesza, during his first term as president of the Polish Football Association, has already chosen a new coach of the senior Polish national team several times. It began with a stormy parting with Paulo Sousa, a Portuguese employed by Kulesza's predecessor, Zbigniew Boniek. The Portuguese coach left for the Brazilian league, and in his place the head of the Polish Football Association chose Czesław Michniewicz.
After the 2022 World Cup and the so-called bonus scandal, the Polish Football Association decided not to extend the coach's contract. Michniewicz was then replaced by Fernando Santos. The 2016 European champion with the Portuguese team turned out to be already... on the other side of the river, achieving compromisingly poor results with the Polish national team. This caused the head of the Polish Football Association to make another change, choosing Michał Probierz in September 2023 - well known, among others, from his time working at Jagiellonia Białystok.
As it turned out, the summer of 2025 brought another, fourth change in the position of coach of the Polish national team.
