A court in Kamchatka Krai has announced a verdict against a local resident who threw a puppy out of a fourth-floor window. This was reported to Lenta.ru by the regional prosecutor's office.
The man was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 245 ("Cruelty to an animal for hooligan motives, resulting in its death") of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. He will spend 1 year and 2 months in a maximum security penal colony.
As the court established, everything happened in November 2023. A drunk man threw a two-month-old puppy out of the window of his house. The dog was found by random passers-by, but they were unable to save it.
Earlier, the Pskov Regional Court sent a 34-year-old resident of the city of Velikiye Luki for compulsory treatment in a psychiatric hospital, who had killed her children and starved her pet dogs.
