The State Duma has raised the issue of abolishing taxes and debt payments to residents of the long-suffering Sudzha. State Duma deputy Sergei Mironov has put forward such an initiative, TASS reports.
“We need to raise the issue at the federal level of exempting the district’s residents from all payments – both to the state and to private structures – for the period when the settlement was under enemy control plus the following six months,” he noted.
According to Mironov's idea, Kursk residents should cancel property and transport taxes, income tax. It is also proposed to suspend utility payments. The same applies to bank debts, including in microfinance organizations.
Residents of three regions bordering Ukraine are already receiving certain concessions. But, according to Mironov, Sudzha is of particular importance and therefore deserves a full debt amnesty.
Earlier, MK wrote that an agreement on granting combat veteran status to firefighters from volunteer units working in the SVO zone would be submitted to the State Duma for discussion.
